Summer Reading School Promotion/Remediation Information

The dates for the Summer Reading School, ESOL Maintenance Program, and ESE Extended School Year will be from June 17th through July 18th.
There will be no school on July 3rd and 4th. July 18th will be a half day for students.
The Summer Reading School hours for students will be from 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.


The following students are eligible to attend – with teacher recommendation:
*Students in grades 1 and 2 who will be promoted, but scored at the "intensive" (red) level on DIBELS Assessment 3, or who will be retained are eligible to attend Summer Reading School for intervention and remediation only – not for promotion.

* Third grade students who scored a Level 1 on FCAT Reading, who would have been otherwise promoted, are eligible to attend with the possibility for promotion at the end of Summer Reading School.
* Students in grades 4 and 5 who received a grade of D in reading on their report card, and 80% or below mastery on their reading portfolio, and will be promoted are eligible to attend Summer Reading School for intervention and remediation only – not for promotion.
* Students in grades 4 and 5 who receive a grade of F in reading on their report card, and 80% or below mastery on their reading portfolio, and will not be promoted, are eligible to attend Summer Reading School for intervention and remediation only not for promotion.
*School bus transportation will be provided for:
ESOL Maintenance
ESE Extended School Year
SRS Elementary Summer Reading School
